Vipers Basketball are excited to present our 2022 Vipers Easter Camp for ages 5-18!
Our high energy sessions introduce a range of exciting drills & games which focus on the fundamental skills, with our 9-13 & 14-18 age groups incorporating structured plays.
Our intermediate and senior sessions cover all aspects of the game with a range of high energy drills targeting ball handling, shooting, passing, defensive and footwork skills throughout each session. Intermediate and senior sessions also incorporate basic structured plays and finish each session with a full court game. Junior players will cover core skills in high energy, positive, games based sessions.
Vipers Academy is focused on delivering high performance skills and game training for the most promising female basketballers in Eastern Southland between the ages of 14-18. Running from the start of November to the end of July each season, our academy provides significant pre-season training and supports our players through their basketball season.
With low group numbers, our academy works with multiple coaches pushing players to their highest level, and is a potential pathway into our Vipers Tournament Team.
Vipers Academy coaching staff have a wealth of experience between them, having secured the coaching services of Gore, Southland & Otago guest coaches, many who have represented New Zealand as a player at age group basketball, or coached New Zealand national age group teams.
U13, U15 & U17 trials preparation programmes are 2 female training sessions per age group, held once weekly for 2 weeks. Sessions start approximately 4 weeks before age group trials. These sessions run at different times of the year to align with their representative seasons. We welcome all females who intend trialling for a representative team, or simply wish to improve their game.
Sessions cover basic terminology, fundamental skills and basic structured plays expected at each age group.
Where our story began! Established in 2019, the Vipers tournament team is an adult women's team comprised of players who all call Southland home.
Our team currently attends three tournaments annually - Apples Tournament in Queenstown (April), Invitational Tournament in Gore (July) & Apples Tournament in Queenstown (November).
Each year one player from our Vipers Academy is chosen as a development player, attending all team trainings and tournaments.
Several Vipers team members have previously represented New Zealand in age group basketball and Koru tours overseas.
Vipers Basketball is a female training and development academy based in Gore, Eastern Southland of New Zealand.

Alongside Vipers Academy, Vipers Basketball run training camps for female players aged 5 through to 18, and annual trials preparation sessions for U13, U15 & U17 age groups.
